STOPPING AREA OF THE MONTH – CERCHIARA DI CALABRIA

Funded by APC, this motorhome stopping area in north of Cerchiara di Calabria, in the province of Cosenza – is equipped with toilets and showers, washtubs and sinks, a camper service station and electricity hook-ups for up to ten motorhomes.

In a strategic area for campers in motorhomes, the Cerchiara di Calabria stopping area is ideally located for those looking to enjoy the beauty of the Raganello Gorges in the Pollino mountain range, and is just a few minutes away from the beaches of the Ionian Sea and the Madonna delle Armi Sanctuary. The village of Cerchiara, with its wide range of shops, services and entertainment, is just around the corner.
The ten pitches are quite large, built on flat ground on cement blocks (erbablock), enlightened by street lighting. The facilities are fenced, and are made up of a wooden house with toilets and showers, and a picnic area with tables, benches and barbecue.
By creating this motorhome parking area , Cerchiara – known to many as the paese del pane – has earned itself a place in the sector’s most prestigious journals and guidebooks. This is the first project of its kind ever carried out in the northern Ionian area and there are now plans to add a playground for children to have fun in.
This stopping area also has a special sponsor – Ulivar di Oriolo, an amaro whose sign welcomes tourists on their arrival.
