STOPPING AREA OF THE MONTH – AWARD CEREMONY FOR AWARDEES OF APC CALL FOR TENDER “I COMUNI DEL TURISMO IN LIBERTÀ” 2017

The section “Stopping Area of the Month” focuses on the award ceremony for the Municipalities receiving their prize in connection with APC Call for Tender “I Comuni del Turismo in Libertà”, taking place at the Salone del Camper. The amount for the municipality hit by the earthquake was 30,000 Euro, while for all the others the contribution was of 20,000 Euro each, totalling 110,000 Euro made available to design and build multifunctional motorhome areas. The Municipal administrations participating to the Call for Tender to construct an equipped stopping area were 141.
Serravalle di Chienti, a village hit by the earthquake in Marche, was awarded a prize in the “extraordinary” category. The award for “Northern Italy” was given to Rocca de’ Baldi (in province of Cuneo): the stopping area to be built will be the starting point for Tourists in Freedom to visit not only the ancient XII-century castle – reopened to visitors a couple of years ago, but also its wonderful parks.

Città della Pieve (in province of Perugia) was awarded in the category “Central Italy” thanks to its project and also for the beauties of its territory.

For the category “South and Islands”, Belpasso (in province of Catania) secured APC contribution: Mount Etna is the big attraction of the area, as its territory stretches on the slopes of the volcano, where you can ski while enjoying an enchanting sea-view.

To conclude, the award for “Renovation and Implementation” went to the city of Naples.
