TOURISM IN FREEDOM FROM AND TO THE MAIN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

In 2015, 1 tourist out of 10 in Europe went for campsites and motorhome areas, totalling 84.1 Million arrivals and 375 Million tourists.

France, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain are the European countries with the highest number of Tourists in Freedom, including locals and tourists coming from other European countries. On the other hand, Tourism in Freedom is the main type of holiday chosen in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Croatia (over 20% of total arrivals in each country).

Italy is one of the favourite destinations for European Tourists in Freedom, especially for those coming from neighbouring countries. It is in fact the first destination for Austrian and German travellers, the second for French and Danish, and the third for Dutch, British, Spanish and Portuguese tourists.

In 2015, 4.1 Million foreign tourists chose Italy, with a 3.4% increase if compared to 2014, a total of 28.1 Million overnight stays and a turnover of slightly more than 1.5 Billion Euro. Foreign Tourists in Freedom in Italy count for 50% of arrivals, 48% of overnight stays and 47% of turnover.
